Retiring git.phonegap.com by Andrew Lunny | 01 Oct 2012 | PhoneGap Build Blog We’re announcing today that our git hosting service, available at git.phonegap.com, will be shut-down on December 1 this year, in two months. We will be disabling support for creating new apps linked to git.phonegap.com in the next couple of weeks - we had removed support from the web interface, but we will also be removing support from our API. If you’re building private apps, please use either upload a zip file or link your GitHub account. If you have an existing app on... Read More...
Building from your Private Github Repositories by Ryan Willoughby | 21 Sep 2012 | PhoneGap Build Blog So, all these socialist open-source evangelists make you want to punch a kitten and fire someone. You want your source code private. But you still want to pull your app from Github to PhoneGap Build (and build using open-source project PhoneGap). Well, now you can. Just link your PhoneGap Build account to your Github account, and you’ll be able to enter in a private Github repo url when creating a new app. In addition, we’ve simplified this process by having all your Github repo... Introducing Hydration by Hardeep Shoker | 23 Aug 2012 | PhoneGap Build Blog The PhoneGap Build team would like to introduce our latest feature - Hydration. So what exactly is it? It’s a tool that delivers updates directly to your device while also significantly cutting down compile times during development. We accomplish this by compiling a native binary that acts as a container for your mobile application. Build uses heuristics to determine when a new binary needs to be generated resulting in a shorter compile time, less fumbling with downloads, easier... Read More...

Enhanced Icon and Splash Support by Hardeep Shoker | 30 Apr 2012 | PhoneGap Build Blog We’ve recently had a lot of discussion with users about icons and splash screens and how they make their way into apps. After some feeback we’ve revamped our icon and splash screen handling to provide a more consistent and expressive interface. Please note that you may need to update your config.xml file to continue having icon and splash support. Previously, we filtered icons and splash screen based on height and width properties provided in the config.xml file. However, we... Read More...

Access Tags by Andrew Lunny | 20 Mar 2012 | PhoneGap Build Blog There’s been some confusion over the behavior of external links in PhoneGap™ (and Adobe® PhoneGap™ Build) apps lately - when you click on a link, should it take over your entire app? Or should it open in the device’s browser? This is a bit of a tricky issue due to PhoneGap’s use of a whitelist for allowed domains - developers need to explicitly allow any domains from which resources can be loaded. In theory, this is a good idea; however, the PhoneGap/Apache Cordova... Read More...

Just launch your favorite QR code reader app, point your device at your app’s code, and follow the link. You’ll see a prompt for your app like the one in the image. You can also log into PhoneGap Build on your phone and hit the link directly; or navigate to a public page and hit the link from... Read More...
ChildBrowser Plugin by Andrew Lunny | 21 Feb 2012 | PhoneGap Build Blog One of most highly demanded features on Adobe® PhoneGap™ Build has been support for PhoneGap Plugins, so we’re happy to announce official support for the popular ChildBrowser plugin for Android and iOS - more details can be found in the docs. We’re going to be ramping forward on support for other plugins in the coming weeks - we’ve made some big changes internally to support this stuff, so hopefully we can iterate faster on making more plugins available, and allowing the...
